Remus Rughiniș

Remus Rughiniș is a 19-year-old Computer Engineering student at POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest. He is alsk an ex-co-founder of Pentra, a startup that aimed to automate report writing for penetration testers using AI. In 2024, Pentra won Innovation Labs and received a €150,000 investment from Early Game Ventures through the competition’s Investment Prize, turning what began as a high-school project into a real startup.

The company eventually closed after the team failed to secure its first client before university, while the co-founders moved to different countries and gradually lost the momentum to keep building together. Remus initially saw the closing of Pentra as the biggest failure of his life and expected it to mark the end of his journey as an entrepreneur. With time however, he realized how many unexpected opportunities the startup had created, and how many of them remained open even after Pentra ended.
