Damain Drăghici

Damian Drăghici is living proof that great achievements are often born from the courage to go against all the voices that say “it can’t be done”. His story is not about a linear success, but about trials, mistakes, failures and the determination to transform every obstacle into an opportunity.

Leaving communist Romania in search of a different destiny, Damian set off for Italy, but an accident brought him to Greece. There he experienced the real struggle for survival, singing on the streets and in taverns to earn a living. It was precisely those difficult moments that would define his path. Another accident radically changed his life: he learned about the enrollment at Berklee College of Music, one of the most prestigious music institutions in the world. He obtained a scholarship and began an extraordinary artistic journey, studying jazz and taking the Romanian flute to the most important international stages.

Throughout his career, he collaborated with legendary names such as James Brown, Joe Cocker, Shaggy and Zucchero, and in 2006 he was rewarded with a Grammy Award for the Silver Solstice project.

After international success, Damian returned home with the desire to tell the story of Romanian fiddlers. From this endeavor was born the Damian & Brothers project, which brought Roma culture to the forefront of the music scene and contributed to bringing people closer together through art, beyond prejudices. Later, through the Fiddler Meditations project, he offered a deep and mature tribute to the musicians who influenced his path.

Curiosity and the desire to constantly learn led him to other forms of expression. He created the Damian Drăghici Podcast, a space dedicated to authentic dialogues and the discovery of remarkable life stories. He also transposed his experiences and lessons into a book that is not a simple autobiography, but a source of inspiration built around a simple belief: a mistake is not an end of the road, but a path of evolution.

Today, whether he takes the stage as a musician, speaker or moderator of authentic conversations, Damian Drăghici assumes the same mission: to share what he has learned from his own journey and to inspire people to follow their dreams. For him, success does not mean the absence of failure, but the strength to continue.
