If I could be the director of my own life for a few minutes, I would go back to 1998, when I was a student at Politehnica, and tell myself: “You have everything you need to succeed.”

More than 25 years ago, I was handing out flyers with a simple message: “Oil changes and spark plug servicing at your home.” I didn’t have a team, I didn’t have an established brand behind me, and, above all, I didn’t have much confidence in myself.
The first “lead” I generated back then wasn’t a customer. It was, rather, a feeling of inadequacy—the sense that maybe you’re not good enough, that you’re working hard without knowing whether any of it will actually matter.
Today, I lead Asko Group, one of Romania’s leading automotive companies. This October, I’m going back to Politehnica University of Bucharest to share my story: a story about having the courage to start before you feel ready, and about the lessons that can turn doubt into direction.
