Robert Anghel

Robert Anghel is a digital banking innovator with over 20 years of experience across telecom, eCommerce and banking. Since March 2026, he serves as Chief Executive Officer of Salt Bank, Romania’s first 100% digital bank, where he continues to guide the bank’s next stage of growth.
Before becoming CEO, Robert served as Chief Business Officer, playing an important role in shaping Salt Bank’s commercial strategy and customer proposition. Having joined the project early on, he has been closely involved in the development of the bank and has a deep understanding of its vision, model, and customers.
Throughout his career, Robert has led large-scale transformation programs, launched digital platforms used by millions of customers across Europe and Asia, and contributed to high-impact mergers and acquisitions. He is passionate about building and scaling digital solutions that make banking simpler, smarter, and more accessible.
Robert is a graduate of the Polytechnic University of Timișoara and holds an MBA from the University of Illinois, with a specialization in Mergers & Acquisitions.
